Nansel Selbol has expressed his happiness after
netting on his debut for Sporting Kansas in their
3-1 win over Trinidad and Tobago side Central FC
in Wednesday night’s CONCACAF Champions
League game.
The 19-year-old scored the game-winner for SKC
in the 55th minute, firing home from 20 yards and
would have bagged two more goals but was
denied by the woodwork.
“I feel very happy about the game. I thank
[Manager Peter Vermes] for giving me the
opportunity to play today, ” said Selbol in his
post match comments, according to
sportingkc.com.
“I was very happy to score the goal because I
am playing for the first team and it’s a big
opportunity and a chance for me.”
He added : “I thought that was in. The goalkeeper
didn’t even see it and the defender didn’t know I
was going to play it. Already, I was trying to turn
and celebrate, but unfortunately it didn’t happen
like that.”
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that a
representative of Arsenal is keeping tabs on the
progress of Selbol with a view to a possible
transfer to the Emirates outfit in the near future.
